Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
3 January, 2008

A typical odd week on Ten Metres. Monday zilch, Wednesday and Thursday pretty good, Friday, Saturday and Sunday not much.

Carl VR2CB put it very well,
“Very little to report (again!). From 25 Dec to 1 Jan, despite listening/calling nearly every day, only 5 stations heard/worked and certainly none were DX.”

Big Dave, VK5MRD, worked a few, Thursday-YC9MDX, Saturday-ZL1AA (Club Station) Monday-JA4GXX. He also went on to say,
”Also heard KH6 again on 10m today and also heard Hawaii on 11m 27.485MHz 5/3, (Not sure that one counts!!) Still good sporadic e conditions here in VK5. All VK states and ZL quite strong all day and into the evening.”

Sun: Sunspot 980 (yes we have one) poses no threat for C class solar flares. Friday morning 02:00 to 07:00 UTC Earth will pass through the Quadrantids. Forecasters expect a brief but intense peak of 50+ meteors per hour over Earth's northern hemisphere.

Still no RF from ‘TUT towers.

Sad to say that after 20 or so years of GB7TUT BBS and Packet Radio transmissions, latterly via my node at ENF1, the BBS has closed, as has my node. Lack of use is cited, both by myself and Richard G4TUT, as the reason for the closure.
