Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
28 December 2006

Very little has happened in the past week on 10m except in VK. So, they are having the best of Ten Metres and the best of the Ashes Matches.

I’ve not heard a single station nor seen a decent innings by an English batsman for ages. “Oh woe and thrice woe” as Frankie Howard used to say.

Even Stoke City managed to lose 1 – 2 to Sheffield Wednesday. And its Leeds Utd at the Brit Stadium on Saturday, so a good scrap there then.

On to the DX, although I should emphasise that some stations noted here had only one contact!!

Most popular DX

Monday: VU7LD, PA7D, R7C/TF (genuine), EI5FK, PA3GXX, TF4M, VK2HV.

Didn’t the VKs do well?

Contests: As you might expect there is very little on at the moment. There is the NRAU contest on the first Thursday of every month for 1 hour (for SSB) 20:00 to 21:00 local (Norwegian) time.
Then nothing of any note for ages.

Sun: Nothing, no sunspots to speak of and a generally calm surface.

Cheers! Tony celebrates Christmas with a bottle of Chiraz (Australian, of course!)

Cheers!
Thanks to a variety of people who have either contributed during the past year or have emailed me to offer encouragement. It is appreciated and good to know that there are folk out there who read this column.

And thanks of course to old ‘4TUT the editor, who yesterday threatened to get some RF out of his flat. Mind you, he’d had a few pints and probably cannot remember.

Now you can help Tony to compile his ten-metre report.
Tell him about any stations you've heard on the 10-metre band in your part of the world, or tell him if you've also found the band to be dead.
Use the form in the pop-up window to record the details of any stations that you have heard during this week.
