Tony's 10 Metre Band Report

Poor during the week again but of course it picked up for the contest over the weekend.

David CE2WZ doesn’t seem to have had a good contest. He says, “Not much to report from Chile this week. 10 metres has been closed most of the week. My only contacts were the following: 29th November, PU5DUD, LU5BOJ/O, PU2YDC”. This is a bit strange as the weekend map shows a fair bit of activity in Chile.

The weekend's map

Carlos, PY2CX, who nearly always gets into the lists week on week, says,
“Hello Tony. During the CQWW CW contest the propagation was quite weird. I worked B7P, BV, BY 9M2 (that I´ve not heard for more then a decade), and made more than 190 QSOs with 100 W and a four element quad. All this with NO sunspots and a SFI less than 80. Hope the ARRL 10 m Contest will be that good.”

Wrong! We want it better, especially for us less fortunate in the UK. I think it’s something the government puts in the water.

I’m glad to see SM3CER’s contest pages are up and running again. I don’t know what the problem was but it’s good to see them back.

Sun: Another blank one. And no spectacular events about to happen.

Stoke drew away at Blackburn, a useful away point. This weekend Arsenal away and they just got beat by Chelsea so they’ll be really sore when we beat them.

Xmas approaches, all too quickly.
