Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
23 December, 2009

Another skimpy week in Ten Metre land.
Again the target to get into the list was lowered to two or more contacts. Even then, Tuesday and Wednesday were a struggle.

ZL2IFB seemed to do well some days but not Tuesday or Wednesday! M0BSV gets congrats for being the sole UK representative in the list.

It is Xmas week and I suppose everyone, except me, is out shopping. We are at -3ºC with snow at the moment, so I’m indoors. As you can see, we are light on reports this week.

Contests: A bit thin on the ground this weekend. Probably not a good idea to be over the alcohol limit in charge of a contest microphone (or key).

Sun: All three of the currently visible sunspots are members of new Solar Cycle 24.

Today at 12:47 pm EST (1747 UT), the sun dipped to its lowest celestial latitude of the year. The event, called "the December solstice," marks the beginning of winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere. Stonehenge Solstice Photos:#1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Spaceweather.com

Man City away and Birmingham at home, nothing to shout about. Just hope we get a better deal from the ref than at Villa. He disallowed a perfectly good goal.
