We only had a week so the wife was not intent on walking up there to see if we could get a trip round it. In fact she was a little more than disappointed and rather verbal when I mentioned it. Anyway, next time maybe.

It looks like a really cr*p week. Even the weekend looks sad. Well not
so at the weekend!! A total of 693 contacts were noted of which only 50
were phone. There was of course a CW contest and I’m not into CW
so I’ve not shown that DX. There does not seem to have been much
spin off into the phone sections from the contest.
The two contact maps for the weekend are as follows. What a difference.

Contests: The French are holding a contest, REF, from 06:00 24th to 18:00 25th February. And then there is the OMIS (Something Something International Sideband Society) contest from 15:00 24th to 15:00 25th BUT only on 28.665 ±25kHz, so there!

Sun: Two diddy spots. Not worth a mention really, so
I won’t.
Whilst I was in the Canary Islands I did manage to get this partial pic
of a massive halo round the sun.
Taken with my Samsung D900 phone, I used a book by Robert Rankin, “The Brightonomicon”, to mostly blot out the sun. Good book. No I lied. Now I look at it again, it’s a copy of El Pais, a Spanish newspaper. And that’s good too.
