There do seem to be quite a few single letter suffixes coming through from the other side of the Atlantic. I’m not sure if that makes them easier to hear or being shorter means you can pack more RF into a short space to punch through the QRM. No doubt some one will enlighten me.

Also there has been some fm activity above 29 MHz from F6BYJ, SV1BSX, UT2UZ and DL8AAM.

Contests:
Just the Belgian HF contest this weekend. (Apart from my daughter’s wedding and Stoke playing Walsall in the FA Cup.)

We lost 0 -3 at home to Hull who hadn’t won in 9 games. We scored an own goal, missed two penalties and Stoke fans were fighting Stoke fans. Abysmal. Not only that but it was my son’s Australian girl friend’s first soccer match. She was appalled at the extremely high level of swearing, abuse and violence particularly in front of some very young children. I make no excuses, it was a very bad day.

Sun:
Sunspot 848 has grown impressively. The once-negligible spot now measures 120,000 km from end to end, about as wide as the planet Saturn.

It’s big enough to be seen with a naked eye but DON’T look directly at the sun without suitable filters.

Now! Where's that wedding speech got to?
