Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
25 January 2007
A bad antenna week here in the UK. High velocity winds
have been blowing trucks over and sinking container ships.
I decided to let my Windom down to ground level at both
ends. Unfortunately in doing so, one of the halyard cords blew round a
chimney pot and I cannot get it back over. This will necessitate a climb
onto the roof to release it. So, while I’m up there I might as well
replace them with new cords.
The winds have only today subsided enough to make it safe
to climb. However we had snow so I still cannot get up there. It will
probably have to wait until the weekend.
No reader's reports this week, perhaps lots of folk have
had problems. Certainly the daily lists make poor reading. XT2C and VU7RG
are making most of the running. Fat chance I have of working them. This
spring will see me buying and actually putting up the talked about beam.

Sunspot 939 is a waste of space so to speak. Wait for the next one.
Not only do the ZLs beat us at cricket (and how) they also get a superb
shot of comet McNaught in this moving gif. Chris Pickering of Wairarapa
Island took this.
Perhaps we can beat the Aussies this Friday - or was that a pig that
I just saw flying past Comet McNaught.
