Not too many reports this week. One from Anderson, PU2PTX that was blank so I guess he had a bad day on Ten.

The 28_MHz Yahoo group seems to have come alive again. Here is a note I got via the group.
“Not really a net, just stop by 10 M on Monday night after 00:30 UTC and call CQ on your Favourite mode on the following frequencies:
PSK31 28.120.00
CW- 28.101.00
Hell- 28.150.00
Olivia - 28.175.00
RTTY - 28.095.00
SSTV - 28.365.00
WSJT 28.076 (JT65a?)

Everyone is welcome, so stop by and see what is going on every Monday Night. The main group is in North Ga, but pass this on to you local groups and see what you can stir up in your area. First time we did this, 12 folks turned up on a dead band to do PSK!

NOTE Please try to run only PSK31 between 28.118 and 28.125 during activity time. Thank you for making it easier to work the weak PSK signals. 73 de Bob, K4ESA EM74qc

And another plug is for VI2AJ2010 in Sydney. They are a special event station running all HF bands and IRLP on vhf/uhf. They are only operational for two more days so listen up. Here is their entry in QRZ.com

Contests: As you can see in the list above the German contest improved the Sunday results. So maybe this little lot will do the same. But maybe not!

Sun: Sunspot 1040 is still growing. During the past two days it has doubled in size--and then doubled again to produce an active region with more than 25 dark cores and a tangled magnetic field.

Dennis Simmons sent this picture from Brisbane, Australia: (Spaceweather.com)

Well we have had some cold weather! -5ºC here in London and -18ºC in more northern parts. Stoke City’s match against Burnley was called off as were many others. Liverpool next weekend and then Arsenal in the Cup, I have my ticket already.

After 5 weeks we still have snow on the ground and freezing temperatures. The grandchildren and their parents were stuck on a runway for nearly 4 hours, then their flight was postponed to the next day so they all had to come back here. Luckily we don’t get this sort of weather very often.
