Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
12 July 2006

Last weekend was good for 10m. The conditions on Saturday in particular were very good with nearly twice as much activity as Sunday. The IARU contest undoubtedly benefited. There was another competition being completed on the Sunday evening which could have kept some folk off the air.

Sunday's map

As can be seen lots of special or national stations sporting the suffix HQ for a Head Quarters station.

WRTC is the World Radiosport Team Championship. The competition is among two-person teams of world-class contesters and took place in conjunction with the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) HF World Championship. Both events last 24 hours, although WRTC rules differ in some respects from those of the IARU event, and scoring is separate.

Contests:
Nothing this week for phone on Ten Metres.

Sun:
Sunspot 899 is insignificant (relatively so).

So we are looking at a quiet week and weekend all round, no World Cup, no Wimbledon, no 10m contests. I am going to the 2nd day of the first test match against Pakistan on Friday but with no Flintoff, perhaps no Hoggard, no Vaughan, no Anderson, no Giles, no Jones. KP is fit though. So I hope we are batting on Friday.
