A dreary week with weak signals all-round. Sunday was a little better but not much.

There was some DX about - CX7CO, VP8LP, VK44KAI and Special station TC7EYOF which is active (HF, 6m, 2m band and SSB, CW, Digital Mod.) between 23 and 30 July for the 'TRABZON 2011, European Youth Olympic Festival' sports event.

But as I’ve said before, it is holiday time so I expect lots of stations working in alternative locations such as TA4/G4OJD.

The Earthside of the sun is peppered with small quiet spots. Solar activity remains low.

Well, a good week for British sport. Amir Khan won his boxing title. England beat India at Lord’s in the first test. I tried to get in but it was sold out 1 hour after tickets went on sale. They could have sold it over again. Very poor handling by MCC/ECB. Shame on you. And of course Hamilton won the German GP.

Stoke City play Hajduk Split in the first leg of the Europe League Cup. I’ll be there at the Brit.
