DX Spots Popup
Tony's 10 Meter Band Report
11 June 2007
The West Indies cricket team have stuck in there and hung
on like grim death. Pity Monty dropped Chanderpaul early on in his innings
but really our fast bowling was less than average. The West Indies deserve
credit for dogged resistance, but we plugged away patiently and won by
60 runs in the end.
Monday through Thursday was not great on ten metres.
Friday was perkier and Saturday good.

As usual the activity maxed out on Saturday and Sunday with the DX coming
from all over the place with HZ and HV0 being popular. NH6P strayed on
to Ten Metres on Tuesday. This is the Big Island (Hawaii) Six Metre Club
call. I wonder what got them on to 10m? Could it be that there is even
less on 6m than on 10m?
Contests: Kids Day contest(??) 18:00 to 24:00 on Saturday
16th and the DIE (Diploma Islas Españolas = Spanish Islands Award)
06:00 to 12:00 on Sunday and not m uch else.
Sun: Spot 960 is not likely to produce much of an effect.
The Sunspot Number has ranged from 63 last Wednesday to 19 on Sunday.
This graph from Spaceweather.com shows the averaged sunspot numbers from
way back.

In general high sunspot numbers mean good HF propagation. The 1960 peak
must have been a beauty!
