From K4ESA, Bob comes a cryptic comment,
“Plan to be out in mobile during the event before and after the local HamFest. The M&M chapter will have a booth set at the KARC hamfest, and we plan to have a 10-10 mobile tour of North Ga afterward. Also, I sent out 9 chapter points upgrades this morning, so I should have a new, up to date FAKE ML document ready to send out for contacts after the weekend.”
I’m not sure I get all that but I guess the guys in the States will.

ZS1WDK, Willem, did well on the weekend.
He worked, “Saturday 13/3/2010
D2CQ - 5/9, YO4RYU M/M - 5/7, IZ3CLE - 5/7, IZ2KSF - 5/9, 4O3A - 5/5, IT9AUG - 5/9 and Sunday 14/3/2010, CO6XN - 5/5, EA8BED - 5/6, I0YKN - 5/5, EA2RH - 5/7, K4ADR - 5/8, KB5AAB - 5/5, CX2DDP - 5/9, KE5SNJ - 4/1, AC5O - 5/1, WP3GW - 5/7, AF2C - 5/9, AC4TO - 5/1, W5HNK - 5/9+, 7Q7RS - 5/5, CU7AO - 5/7, NQ4I - 5/9+, F5OTZ - 5/9.
As you can see I had a "ball" on Sunday with the band opening up to the West and North at the same time. Normally it would be in one direction only eg. North/South or East/West. Well I think Christmas came early this year. Big signals from the USA and a new country for me - Cuba (CO6XN)”

Excellent stuff Willem, keep reporting in, even negative reports are useful.

Sun:

Sunspot 1054 is slowly decaying, but it still has a "beta-gamma" magnetic field that harbors energy for C- and M-class solar flares.

On March 11th, 12th and 13th no fewer than four comets plunged into the sun These sungrazing comets are believed to be fragments of a giant comet that broke apart more than 2000 years ago.

A solar wind stream is heading for Earth, and so is a coronal mass ejection (CME). Together, they add up to a geomagnetic storm alert for March 17th and 18th. The impact of the solar wind plus CME will brighten Arctic skies already alive with Northern Lights.

A dull 0 – 0 draw against Villa, least said, soonest mended.

Spurs this weekend much tougher but we will be well rested and at full strength with Shawcross back.

And here is a picture of son James and his fiancé, Michelle.

And one of an extremely relaxed cat (named Monty)

And finally:
The answer to last week's quiz question:

The Naval wireless operator is on the ANZAC Memorial in Sydney - high up.

No one gave a correct answer, so no prizes.
