Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
09 November
2006
Not such a hectic week or even weekend, but that’s
not surprising as there was no CQWW to contend with.
Nice to see some VKs and ZSs in the lists again, even the
odd G and GW. XF4DL on Socorro Island, Mexico was really running well,
but had to stop on 3rd November. 9J2VB ran away with the prizes on Saturday
and Sunday. There were some other gems in there as well but sadly little
into my QTH!

Contests:
This coming weekend we have the Japan International DX Contest, strangely
from 07:00 Saturday to 13:00 Sunday, why?
There is nothing else on phone, well to be truthful there is the SL
(Swedish) contest which runs, wait for it, from Saturday 11:00 to Saturday
12:00, stunning!!
And
the SSA (Swedish again but different than the SL one) which runs from
Sunday 15:15 to Sunday 16:15, again why?
Sun:
The sun is pretty quiet today. The interesting thing is the transit of
Mercury across it’s face.
The perfectly circular silhouette of Mercury appears at bottom, the ragged
expanse of sunspot 923 at the top.
Happy DXing
