Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
21 November 2006

Run away winner of the most hit DX this week is 5A7A (Libya), followed by VK9CGG (Cocos & Keeling Is.), but really not in the same street, especially on the Saturday which was more active than Sunday, depending on your definition of activity.

Most popular DX, with most reported first followed with most reporting last. It’s interesting to see who’s popular but also who’s working the DX. I may be will indicate more clearly the honey from the worker bees. Stacks of Italians on Thursday (was it a run your linear for 'free' day?) where as Tuesday was a no brainer.

Contests: The CQWW CW section this coming weekend and there is bound to be spin off into the SSB section of 10m. Conditions are variable but better (not to the UK) than many have predicted.

Sun: Sunspot 923 is about to disappear over the visible edge of the sun leaving the almost negligible 924.

Although the weather/sky was good for observing on the night of the 18th/19th in the UK, I did not see any of the Leonid meteor shower. Several people did, even though it was supposed to be a faint shower. Some even saw fireballs. Last night and tonight are completely overcast and raining.

Image right: The Koreans were not always as electronically minded as they are now. With a drum like this for signalling, who needs a mobile phone.
