Still fairly good conditions this week with the weekend again being the best days.
Sunday there were over 4400 reported contacts. T2T (Tuvalu) is still active but, very popular all week was 9M7MD (Nepal) along with ZK2V (Niue, Rock of Polynesia), ZD8ZZ (Ascension Is) and 7Z7AA (Saudi Arabia).
K6III seems to be getting in on the spotting front with W3LPL still in there and HI8CSS popping up on Tuesday.

“I sound like a broken record!! Once again no radio time however I know for a fact that the band has been wide open. Whilst out on the job I always check the 28MHz cluster spots on my mobile phone. I wish I had HF in my work vehicle. Like today for example I could see that VK4 and VK5 were working South America with very big signals. For me though it wasn’t to be. I just had a quick look and I could hear VR2XMT and some weak voices from EU as most of the conditions had faded. I did however work JA5FBZ on Sunday, VU2RBI , GM0ELP on Saturday, VK2LAW and VK2FJPR on Friday. Monday, I am still only getting a few mins here and there and I am missing out on a lot of decent band conditions but never mind! I know that VK to South America was wide open the other afternoon and also to Nepal. Here are a few I was able to muster since my last log. G0VQY , PB5X , ON4IQ , PA3GSU , DO6NIK.”

Lots of special calls out, could have something to do with CQWW?
Sun: There are 7 easily visible sunspot clusters with sunspot 1356 having a "beta-gamma" magnetic field that harbours energy for M-class solar flares. Counting sunspots is not as straightforward as it sounds. Suppose you looked at the Sun through a pair of (properly filtered) low power binoculars -- you might be able to see two or three large spots. An observer peering through a high-powered telescope might see 10 or 20. A powerful space-based observatory could see even more -- say, 50 to 100. (There is a formula)
Today’s Official sunspot number is 132. As a rule of thumb, if you divide either of the official sunspot numbers by 15, you'll get the approximate number of individual sunspots visible on the solar disk if you look at the Sun by projecting its image on a paper plate with a small telescope.
We lost 2 – 3 to QPR, they scored 3 good goals with our defence just looking on. Then we came back at them, but they just hung on. Blackburn this Saturday with an early kick off as it’s on Sky TV.
