MALDIVES, 8Q. Andrew, G7COD will be QRV as 8Q7AK from
Embudu Island, IOTA AS-013, from January 21 to February 2. Activity will
be on 80, 30, 20, 17, 15 and 12 meters using mainly SSB with some CW at
various times. QSL to home call.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, A6. Special event callsign A60ISG
is QRV until January 24 during the 3rd international ''Scouting and Humanitarian
Action'' in Sharjah. Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and
digital modes. QSL via IZ8CLM.
NAURU, C2. Udo, DL9HCU will be QRV as C21HC for about
a week. Activity is on 20 meters using CW and SSB at various times. QSL
to home call.
MOZAMBIQUE, C9. Rodrigo, CT1BXT is QRV as C91R until
August 2008. He is active using mostly RTTY on 20 meters but expects to
be active on 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters soon. QSL to home call.
JUAN FERNANDEZ ISLAND, CE0. Svein, LA6IKA will be QRV
as CE0Z/LA6IKA from January 22 to 29. Activity will be on 20, 15 and 10

CANARY ISLANDS, EA8. Niels, OZ7FOC is QRV as EA8/OZ7FOC
from Isla de Tenerife, IOTA AF-004, until January 26. QSL to home call.
IRAN, EP. Pooyan, EP3PK has been QRV on 20 meters using
SSB or PSK between 1130 and 1400z. QSL via IK2DUW.
MARQUESAS ISLANDS, FO. Jouko, OH1RX, Pertti, OH2PM,
Veijo, OH6KN and Juha, OH8NC, are QRV as FO/OH1RX from Nuku Hiva, IOTA
OC-027, until January 22. Activity is on 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB
and RTTY with three stations on simultaneously. QSL via OH2PM.
SVALBARD, JW. Unni, LA6RHA is QRV as JW6RHA until January
24. QSL to home call.
NORWAY, LA. In celebration of the European Handball
Championship, special event stations LM8EHC/1, LM8EHC/2, LM8EHC/3, LM8EHC/4
and LM8EHC/5 are QRV until January 27. QSL via LA1B, LA2D, LA2L, LA8D
and LA2T, respectively.
BANGLADESH, S2. John, KX7YT will be QRV as S21YV from
Dhaka from January 24 to March 11. This includes entries in the upcoming
CQ WW RTTY WPX and ARRL DX SSB contests as Single Op/All Band entries.

SWEDEN, SM. In celebration of the 350th anniversary
of the Treaty of Roskilde, special event stations SB1658OZ, SC1658OZ,
SH1658DK, SH1658OZ, SK1658DK and SK1658OZ are active throughout 2008.
QSL via SK7JC, SK7BQ, SK6JX, SK6KY, SK7CE and SK7BQ, respectively.
MOUNT ATHOS, SV/A. Monk Apollo, SV2ASP/A has been active
on 20 and 17 meters around 0910 to 1010z and then 1340 to 1400z.
CANADA, VE. Mike, VE2XB is QRV as VE2XB/VY0 from Southampton
Island, IOTA NA-007, for several months. Activity is on 40, 30 and 20
meters using CW and SSB as his work schedule permits. QSL to home call.
FALKLAND ISLANDS, VP8. Dave, G1OCN and Carol, 2E1DQZ
will be QRV as VP8CLE and VP8DKW, respectively, from January 19 to February
2. Activity will be on 80, 40, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters using only SSB.
They may also be active using FM on the AO-51 and SO-50 satellites. QSL

NIUE, ZK2. Phil, VK3APM is QRV as ZK2PM and is here
for about a year. Activity is generally on the HF bands, eventually including
6 and 2 meters and 70 cm. QSL to home call.

The ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes, North American SSB QSO Party, NCCC SSB
Sprint, LZ Open CW Contest, UK DX
RTTY Contest, Hungarian DX Contest and Feld Hell Sprint are all on tap
for this weekend. The Run for the Bacon QRP Contest is scheduled for January
21. The SKCC CW Sprint is scheduled for January 23.
