20/03/2010: Andrew, G7COD, will be operational from Playa Del Cura on the island of Gran Canaria (IOTA AF-004, DIE S-005, ESA GC, WLOTA LH-0969) using the call EA8/G7COD/A from the 20-28th March 2010. QRV 20-10 metres, including WARC bands, using SSB and CW. He will be operational every day from approximately 13:00z to 14:00z, 18:00z to 20:00z, and 23:00z to 23:30z. They will be using a multiband vertical as well as our NVIS antenna for Virginia, so they expect to work and will be available for the openings on 15m and 20m to Europe. 21/03/2010: Bodo, DL3OCH will be active as 8Q7QX from the island of Velidhu, Ari Atoll (IOTA AS-031, WLOTA LH-0317, WW Loc. MJ64JE), Maldive Islands, from 21st March to 4th April, 2010. QRV mostly in CW and maybe some RTTY and PSK31, with vertical antenna and IC-7000 (100W only). Depending on conditions, he will be mostly on 40-12m but also try some 80m. 21/03/2010: Olivier ON4EI will be activating Bere Island (IOTA EU-121, WLOTA LH-2983) as EJ8GQB, his new Irish callsign. This solo expedition is planned from 21st-29th March 2010. 21/03/2010: Operators Gav GM0GAV and Rob GM3YTS will be active as S79GM between 21st March and 1st April 2010 from Mahé Island (IOTA AF-024), Seychelle Islands. QRV on all bands with an emphasis on the lower bands. Operations will be mainly CW with a possibility of some RTTY. Equipment: Elecraft K3 + K2, THP HL1.1Kfx amplifier and Verticals near the sea. They have tried to gain access to 7000-7050 kHz without any success, so look for them on 7050 or above and listening around 7025 kHz. They do have full access to 80m. 22/03/2010: Operators Jan K4QD and Don AF4Z will be QRV as HH4/homecalls from the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (www.nwhcm.org/), Haiti (NA-096, WLOTA LH-0343), from 22nd March to 2nd April 2010. They will operate 160-10m on CW, SSB and RTTY as time permits. They will also participate in the CQWW WPX SSB contest (27-28th March). 22/03/2010: David, K2DBK will be visiting family and operating in his spare time from Lido Key (IOTA NA-034, USi FL027S), Sarasota County, Florida, as K2DBK/4 on 22-24th March 2010. 22/03/2010: Rod, N0RC, will be active as OX3RC from Thule, Greenland (IOTA NA-018, WLOTA LH-0072), between 22nd March and 24th April 2010. Activity will be limited as work permits, but Rod plans to be on every other day and try to get on the air for contest weekends, but he cannot guarantee this. 23/03/2010: Dave, W5CW will be active from the VP5JM rental QTH on Providenciales (NA-002, WW Loc. FL31VS) as VP5/homecall between 23rd March and 6th April 2010. He will also participate as a Single-Op/All-Band entry in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (27-28th March) using the callsign VP50V (VP Fifty V). Outside the contest he will be QRV 160-6 metre CW and SSB, with focus on the WARC bands. On 6 meters he will use 100 watts and 7element M2 yagi. 26/03/2010: Cezar (VE3LYC) will attempt to activate East Pen Island (NA-231, new one) for three days between 26th and 31st March, 2010. Intended callsign will be VY0V, which will be applied for in due course. Cezar reminds everyone that an earlier try he undertook with G3OCA in July 2007 was unsuccessful. The outcome of this new attempt will be determined by local conditions, weather and safety factors. At this time, Cezar is looking for group and individual donors who understand and appreciate the nature of this difficult project and are willing to join in the effort. 23/03/2010: Look for special event station 8J6AIRA to be active from 23 March to 31 August 2010 to celebrate the birth of Aira-city (JCC # 4626), Kyushu (IOTA AS-077, JIIA AS-077-001, WLOTA LH-0963), Japan.
