Island activities:
AF-018. Martin, OL5Y, will be active as IH9N from the African Italy
Island of Pantelleria during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October
25-26th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (40m)/Low-Power entry.
QSL via OK1MG.
AS-027. There is a good possibility that Vrangel Island (Wrangel) will
show up on the bands by the end of August. A team of operators
will try to activate this IOTA during their trip aboard the"Akademik Fedorov's" expedition heading towards the drifting
polar base SP36. Their expected callsigns will be UE0MAC/0,
UA6LP/0 and RZ6MZ/0. Exact dates of the operation depend on
the Arctic weather.
AS-045. A team of 8 Korean operators will be active from Tok Island
using a specially issued callsign D9D between September 13-18th.
However, some operators may sign as homecall/5 (ex. DS2GOO/5)
sometimes for individual purposes.
Operators mentioned are:
Kim/HL2CFY, Han/DS2GOO, Kweon/DS2GXU, Lim/DS2HRE, Jeong/6K2ABX, Cho/6K2FNN,
Song/6K2BWA, and Seok/6K2GDT. Activity will be on
80-10 meters (including 30/17/12m) using CW/SSB/FSK/PSK31.
They plan to use 4 HF Transceivers with two 600 watts linears
with various vertical and wire antenna systems. QSLs for D9D
go via 6K2BWA. All others via their home callsigns.
EU-007. A four man team will activate Ireland's most difficult IOTA,
The Great Blasket Islands, between September 10-14th. EU-007
is quite rare and ranks amongst some of the most needed IOTAs
throughout Europe. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using both
CW and SSB. The team states that the landing on EU-007 "can be
(and often is) difficult, and quite often, there can be no
sailings for days. Please excuse if there should be any delay
but this would be beyond our control."

EU-010. Rob, DK1ROB, will be active as MM/DK1ROB from the Isle of
Barra (IOSA OH-11, SCOTIA HI-02, WW Loc. IO66GX) between
September 28th and October 3rd. Activity will be on 40-2
meters and 70cm using SSB, RTTY and possiblye PSK63. His
antennas are: Inverted Vee for 40m, 5-band Spiderbeam for
20-10m at 15m AG, 3-element beam for 6m at 5m AG, and a
vertical for 2m/70cm. QSL via his home callsign, direct or
by the bureau.
EU-032. Gerd, DK8NT, from Oleron Island (DIFM AT-025, also counts for
WLOTA LH-1369) between now and September 5th. Callsigns and
bands/modes of activity were not provided. QSL via his home
callsign, direct or by the bureau. Note: no eQSL please.
EU-049. Gabi, HA1YA, will be active as J48YA from Limnos Island (MIA
MG-065, WLOTA LH-1740, Grid KM29), Greece, August 25-31st.
Activity will be on HF, 6 and 2 meters. HF equipment is an
IC-746 using a SQ vertical for HF, a simple wire delta loop
for 6m, and ME1500-V and DL6WU portable antenna for 2m. He
plans to be active during the evenings and mornings. QSL via
his home callsign.
EU-099. Operators Charles/M0OXO and Nigel/M0NJW have been invited back
to operate from Maitresse Island, Les Minquiers Islands. Next
year between July 22-30th (2009), they will use the callsign

EU-111. Four members of the Cambridge University Wireless Society are
planning to be active as GM6UW/p from the Monach Islands from
mid-afternoon on August 27th until mid-morning on the 28th.
The operation depends on wind and sea conditions. Operators
mentioned are: G3ZAY, M0ERY, M0FFX and M0SCH.
EU-123. Members of the newly formed Middlesex DX Group will be active
from Arran Island (IOSA CL01, SCOTIA CS14, Grid IO75KM), October
4-10th. The team of operators will use two callsigns:
MS0MDG/P - Will be used for SOTA and HF portable activity.
GB0MFG - For the base operations.
Activity will be on 160 meters through 23cms. Operators that
were mentioned are John/G0KLX, Kevin/G1KAW, Simon/2E0VAG,
Chris/2E0CMG, Carl/2E1IDC, Michael/G3WOE, Lee/2E0JDC and Jason/
M1PRO.

EU-174. Laci, HA0HW, will be active as J48HW and SV8/homecall from
Thassos Island, Greece (MIA: MG-124, GIOTA: NAS-037, WLOTA:
4186, Grid KN20hs) between August 30th and September 10th.
Activity will be on the HF bands (mainly on 40/30/20/17 meters
and mainly on CW, with some SSB, RTTY and PSK31 as well), and
6 meters. QSL via his home callsign, by the HA Bureau or direct.
EU-176. Operators Jorgen/SM3CXS and Sten/SM3NXS will once again be
active from Grimskar Island as SG3U and SD3N, respectively
between August 29-31st. Activity will be on 80-10 meters CW/SSB.
QSL via their home callsigns, by the bureau or direct.
NA-029. George, K3GV, will be active as K3GV/VY2 from Prince Edward
Island (CISA PE-001), between September 1-22nd. Activity will
be on 20 and 15 meters around the usual IOTA frequencies. QSL
via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.
NA-067. Mike, KC2SDG, will be operating beachside as homecall/p from
Hatteras [aka Pea] Island (USI NC-005S, WLOTA LH-3913, Dare
County, North Carolina), between now and August 30th. He will
use a Kenwood TS-480SAT w/100w into a rotatable dipole capable
of communication on 80/40/20/2/1.25 meters and 70cm. QSL via
LoTW only.
SA-057. Members of the Sacramento Radio Club (CX2FAA) will be active
as CX1F from San Gabriel Island (SA-057), Uruguay, November
15-16th. Operators mentioned are: Ricardo/CX5FT, Viterbo/CX9FD,
Italo/CX3FG, Marber/CX9ACK and Walter/CX6FF. Activity will be
