Island activities:

AF-019. Emilio/IZ1GAR will be active as IG9W from Lampedusa Island (African Italy) during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th).
He will concentrate on the lower bands prior to contest as IG9/IZIGAR. QSK via his home callsign.

EU-005. Steve, G0UIH, will be active as homecall/p from Piel Island (CU-005 for English Islands), August 14-16th. This island is the "Jewel in the Crown" of the Islands of Furness. The island has a history going back to the 11th century. Expect activity on all HF bands. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

EU-044. Mario, DL5ME, will be active as LA2NK or LA/DL5ME from Northcape on the Island of Mageroya, August 13-16th. Activity will be on 40/30/20 meters using CW and SSB. QSL direct ONLY to DL5ME (address on QRZ.com).

EU-051. Giorgio, IZ4AKS, will be active as IE9X from the Island of Ustica (IIA PA-001, MIA MI-116) between August 16-21st. Activity will be on 40-10 meters (mainly SSB, but also RTTY and CW) with 100w and vertical antenna. QSL Policy: A special QSL in advance to all via Bureau.

EU-055. Operators Henk/PA3FMC, Ruud/PE1BTV and Hans/PH0V will be active as LA/homecall from Utvaer Island, August 10-18th. QSL via their home callsigns, direct or by the bureau.

EU-126. Mario, DL5ME, will be active as OH9AA/p from the Lappi Province Group for only a few hours on August 19th. Activity will be on 40/30/20 meters using CW and SSB. QSL direct ONLY to DL5ME (address on QRZ.com).

EU-172. Ric, DL2VFR, will be active as OZ0FR/p from Samso Island (DIA JY-008, WLOTA 0726) between August 22nd and September 4th. Activity will be on all HF bands, mostly CW. QSL via DL2VFR, by the bureau or direct.

EU-174. Members of the J42ARET club will be active as SX8DI from Penna Island (GIOTA NAS-045, WLOTA 2124, WW Loc. KN10XH), one of the Drenia Islands between August 28-31st. The group also plan to activate the lighthouse on Frini Island as SX8DI/LH. Operators mentioned are: Demetrius/SV2GWY, Angelo/SV2GWR, Cleanthis/SV2XI, Dimitris/SV7HRJ, Nick/SV7HVI, Themistokles/SW2HQF and Nikos/ SW2HVD. Activity will be on HF, VHF and UHF, and all modes. NA-230. (Update/Change) Cezar, VE3LYC, will attempt his most difficult operation to date: activating for the first time the Ottawa Islands (IOTA NA-230) group in Hudson Bay. Name of the specific island is not available at this time, but the dates have been announced, August 31st to September 3rd. The callsign will be VY0O. Cezar is still looking for financial support for this project. Information for donors as well as QSL information will be posted in due course on VY0O page at QRZ.com. OC-211. Operators Wally/VK6YS and Nigel/VK6NI plan to be active as VK6YS from Robertson Island, in the Pelsaert Group (WW Loc. OG71AC) between December 29th and January 4th, 2010. SA-023. Operators Jose/PY6HD, Beto/PY6RT and Nilzo/PY6AWU will be active as ZZ6Z from Itaparica Island between August 14-16th. Activity will be SSB only on 80/40/20/17/15/10 meters. QSL via PY6HD, direct, LoTW or by the Bureau.
