IOTA News
27 November, 2010
Island activities:
AN-018. Mike, VP8DMH, hopes to be able to be active from the Fossil
Bluff Base Station on Alexander Island early next year. This
depends if he can fly out to visit for a while. If so, he
will only be able to operate casually.
EU-012. (Update) Barring any weather or ferry problems, Chris, GM3WOJ/ZL1CT, departs Wednesday morning, November 24th, for the
Shetland Islands (GM) where he will be a Single-Op/All-Band/
High-Power entry in this week's CQWW. The callsign will be the
rarely used GZ7V.
Logs will be uploaded into LoTW, and that
is the ONLY method of QSLing for this operation. No paper
cards will be printed. Various Web sites listing N3SL as the
QSL Manager are incorrect. For updates, check the Web page
at:
http://www.gm7v.com
NA-129. John, VE8EV, will be on Banks Island (Grid CQ71) between
November 27-28th. He is expected to be active as VE8EV/p.
He states,"I am not sure which satellite passes I will be
on, but I will try to at least be on all the HO-68 (SSB)
and AO-51 passes that favor North America and Europe."
He
will also be on the HF bands, mostly SSB and some activity
in the CQWW DX CW Contest. QSL via his home callsign, direct,
by the Bureau or LoTW. Watch for possible updates on his
Blog page at: http://ve8ev.blogspot.com
OC-139. Operators Ben/VK5ZMM and Dirk/VK5AUQ will be active from
Kangaroo Island between November 28th and December 1st.
Activity will be modes SSB (VK5AUQ) and Digital (VK5ZMM).
QSL both callsigns via PA2C. Look for cards to be printed
after their operation in mid-December.
SA-008/SA-091. After his activity on Riesco Island (SA-091) on November
26th, look for Jean-Pierre, F5AHO, to be active as LU/F5AHO
from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego (SA-008), between December
2-5th.
He may also activate two other IOTAs.
Activity will
be on 20 and 17 meters using SSB and PSK.
QSL via F5AHO.
