AMSAT - DC Meeting and Space Seminar

The next gathering of AMSAT members and friends in the greater Washington, D.C. area will take place on Saturday, May 14, in Greenbelt, Maryland. All radio amateurs and all educators are invited to attend.

Amateur satellites and high-altitude balloon activities are scheduled to be showcased during this all-day event.

There will be a series of presentations, several "show 'n' tell" demonstrations, lively discussions, a group photograph opportunity and a social period. These local gatherings in the D.C. area are now a tradition, having occurred at least annually every year since 1992 with great success.

The meeting will get underway at 10am and run through 4pm in the Visitor Center auditorium at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Informal talk-in will be on 146.835 MHz WA3NAN/R.
You can't miss the location on the local APRS map, but the Visitor Center can also be found under
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/about/maps.html

There are still slots open for presenters and hardware demonstrations, so contact the host Pat Kilroy, N8PK, soon if you are willing to share your experiences.

Volunteers are always welcomed leading up to the meeting day. Coordination is being done in advance on the amsat-dc mail list. Otherwise, you can lend your support directly to the host by e-mail at n8pk@amsat.org.

Late breaking changes to the meeting and other news can be found at http://patkilroy.com/amsat-dc/

[ANS thanks Pat, N8PK, for this information]
