Special Callsign

"Here in VK6 a Special Callsign has been arranged for use on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of April 2005. That is in only a few days' time. The Dates and Times (0001 on the 23rd to 2400 on the 25th are of course UTC, GMT or Zulu whichever you prefer.

Operation of this callsign will be from at least 4 areas in VK6, and we hope to operate from Albany on the 25th, from just after dawn onward.

Operation will be aimed particularly at VK, ZL, P2, and of course any amateur with a Turkish Callsign. Not being snobs we will take any calls, but those are the areas we want to work. Look for us on HF. We will be on Voice, and hopefully on CW as well.

What is the Callsign you scream? VI 90 ANZAC.
Now you know why we want to operate from Albany.

The first convoy of troops (Australians and New Zealanders)
left from there, and it was there that the Dawn service tradition started."
