40-metre band expanded for amateurs in Cyprus

Cypriot amateurs may now use 7100 to 7200kHz in addition to 7000 to 7100kHz.

The expansion of the 40-metre band is included in the Cyprus Department of Electronic Communications National Frequency Plan which has been posted on the Internet (large pdf file).

In ITU Regions 1 and 3, the band 7100 - 7200kHz is allocated to the Broadcasting service until 29 March 2009 on a primary basis.

Cypriot amateurs join those in the UK, Ireland, Croatia, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, San Marino and Iceland who already have access to 7100 - 7200kHz.
