Advanced Examination passes at LEFARS

"Congratulations!" to Mike, M3HSX, and to Alex, M3HSK, on passing the Advanced Licence exam.

Both fast-tracked their way to full UK licence status in less than six months, having begun by joining us at the Loughton and Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society for a weekend-long Foundation Licence course, assessments and exam, in late September 2004.

They then completed the Intermediate Licence assessments with us in January 2005, and after a short period of self-study, subsequently passed the Intermediate exam in February.

Neither Mike, nor Alex applied for an Intermediate callsign at this time, opting instead to go for the Advanced Licence exam in March.

I am sure that Alex will soon be QRV, sporting his brand new shiny M0 callsign /M, from High Beach. Mike, on the other-hand, has now departed these shores, and will most certainly soon be a US "power station" hopefully, beaming towards Loughton from his QTH in New Jersey.

73, Marc
