Packet in Southern Tasmania

There is a great deal of packet radio still being experimented with in Southern Tasmania and this is thanks to Danny, VK7HDM who is the experimenter providing a very extensive range of packet services.

The packet frequency is 147.575MHz 1200 baud and
434.150MHz at 9600 Baud.

vk7hdm-6 is a full TCP/IP BBS allowing email throughput i.e.
vk7xxx@vk7hdm.ampr.org.

You can access via your normal Email client like Outlook Express or any email program to get amateur related email via radio.

Danny also runs the APRS Igate for Hobart and this runs on
145.175MHz, the national APRS frequency.
