Repeaters on the move

Many will be aware that VK1 had to remove their repeaters from Black Mt Tower some months ago after the site operator advised they would be required to pay high fees to remain.

The services that had to be found a new home were the 70cm IRLP and voice repeaters, and the licensed but not installed 2mtr voice repeater and some links to other sites.

The CRARC committee has almost finalised access to the Airservices site at Mt Majura, and a commercial operator has offered access at Isaacs Ridge.

IRLP at Isaacs is first priority, and then installation of antenna, feeder and equipment rack at Majura, followed by the installation of the radio equipment.

To reduce this impact on club funds, and provide a means for interested amateurs to contribute directly to the project, financial donations are invited.

Please mark contributions 'repeater fund', and make cheques payable to 'Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club Inc' and post to GPO Box 600 Canberra ACT 2601.

Donations will be used solely for the new repeater installations and individual receipts issued by the treasurer.
