Wireless viruses could have far-reaching impact

Two cellphones on display in the window of a Californiam store became infected with a version of the Cabir virus, leading experts to suspect that the bug was transmitted from a passer-by's wireless device.

The public release of the code for making Cabir means "it’s likely such worms will be used by copycat writers and may spur an epidemic of viruses" according to IBM. It's the digital age's nightmare beginning to unfold.
