New Consultation - Data Limits and Data Services on Radio Multiplexes The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is holding a public consultation on the amount of data that can be transmitted on DAB multiplexes in order to permit TV services. At first glance this would appear a retrograde step as far as DAB Radio services are concerned. The extra data bandwidth required for TV would have to come from somewhere and there are concerns that if these proposals go ahead there will be a further reduction in the data rate and signal quality of existing DAB radio stations 73 Trevor M5AKA DCMS is seeking comments on (i) a proposed change to the maximum amount
of data which can be carried on a digital radio multiplex. The proposal
will increase the limit from 20% to 30% and (ii) changes to the definition
