First SARL RTA to be held in Port Elizabeth

An exciting programme has been arranged for the first Radio Technology in Action day which will be held at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth on Saturday 29 April 2006. Registration will start at 8:30 with the first plenary at 09:00.

Tony Voorveld, ZS6CCD, of the Department of Physics at University of the Witwatersrand will deliver a lecture on the early days of Marconi, complete with an enactment of the first transmission by Marconi from the Villa Griffon.

Warren Botton of Clearline will present the second plenary lecture discussing lightning and surge protection.

After the two plenary lectures, there will be two streams of lectures covering a diverse range of subjects. Visit www.sarl.org.za and click on the link for a full programme and map showing you how to get there and where to park.

The entrance fee is R20 per person payable at the door, Learners and students enter free. Each R20 ticket will be entered into the attendance draw for some valuable prizes, The draw will take place during the final plenary.
