Fantastic opportunity to learn more about Chelmsford's past

Chelmsford Borough Council has organised a special Marconi Day event between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 21 April to commemorate the anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi's birth.

Sandford Mill has an extensive collection of Marconi and other radio equipment, however, it is only open to the public about 6 times a year.

The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) was asked to provide an Amateur Radio station at the Open Day which will be in the 2MT hut that is housed in the museum. For further information see

The Amateur Radio International Marconi Day (IMD) takes place a week later on 28th April. CARS will also be running a station that day at Sandford Mill but it will NOT be open to the general public.
