Memorial Guglielmo Marconi

The A.R.I. (Italian Radio amateur Association) section of Marcon (Venice) in the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the passing away of Guglielmo Marconi wants to tribute him an Award to remember his figure of scientist and 'father' of the radio.

Period:
From 00,00 UTC of July 14, 2007 to 24,00 UTC of July 22, 2007

The Award is open to worldwide OMs and SWLs aimed at contacting or listening to radio stations of ARI Marcon Members. ARI Marcon Members are not eligible for the Award.

Bands and Modes:
HF: 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 meters. Mode: SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK.
ARI Marcon Members will use their own Calls specifying : "Guglielmo Marconi Memorial".

Reports:
RS-RST shall have to be exchanged. No progressive numbers will be necessary.

POINTS:
Each QSO is worth 1 point;
Special Call Station IQ3GA is worth 3 points.
Special Call Station IK3VII (Daniele Raimondi) is worth 3 points.
Each station can be logged only one time per day.
QSOs on different modes with the same station are not allowed on the same day.

AWARD:
To achieve the score for the Award at least 20 points are needed. Stations that will submit proof of at least 70 points will receive a celebrative medal in addition to the Award.
Foreign Stations (outside of Italy) shall have to confirm at least 15 points.

The Award can be requested, by September 3, 2007, to :
Associazione Radioamatori Italiani – Sezione di Marcon – P.O.Box 7 – 30020 MARCON (VE), Italia.

Copy of the log and 10,00 euro or 12 U.S. Dollars shall have to be included in the request.

Late requests will not be included in the final results list even if the Award will be granted.
Email address shall have to be indicated in the request.

PRIZES:
Commemorative plaque will be sent to:
To first three top scores;
To the first "non-Italian" station with higher score;
To the first YL with higher score;
To the first SWL Station with higher score;

In the event of two or more prizes won by the same station, only the higher will be assigned while the other(s) will be sent to the next in the rank. Same rules will apply to SWL Stations.

Special Station IK3VII operated by Daniele Raimondi will be on-air during the award period. Daniele is a well-known expert about Marconi's life and activities.

For ARI Marcon Stations only, a special prize according to internal rules will be assigned.

A special QSL will be sent to all the station contacted during the Memorial.

Final results will be published in the ARI Magazine "Radio Rivista" and in to our web site http://www.arimarcon.com/
