Sunspot 930 - The Movie

On 13 December 2006, sunspot 930 unleashed a powerful
X-class solar flare. Using data from the Hinode's Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) a movie of the event has been produced.

A Massive Explosion on the Sun

Last December, Japan's Hinode spacecraft observed a massive explosion on the sun. Researchers analyzing the data have produced a must-see movie of the flare's magnetic underpinnings.
