Simple circuit to beat receiver interference

VU2ATN had been experiencing severe problems in HF operation owing to continuous interference from passenger lifts and various power appliances in his QTH which is a part of a large apartment block.

In fact Atanu had even considered giving up ham radio because he had not been able to copy signals with signal strength less than +9.

What to do?

Well he found an article "AN INTERFERENCE CANCELLING SYSTEM FOR YOUR RECEIVER OR TRANSCEIVER" by Lloyd Butler VK5BR on the internet and decided to try the solution.

The result?

Very encouraging and the cancelling system, using a simple circuit and a noise antenna, has been working pretty well.

Atuna, VU2ATN can reiterate that VK5BR's solution is really very good and can certainly be copied by city-dwellers like him and still pursue ham radio.
