VK2IMD on-air for International Marconi Day

Late news in is that Hornsby and Districts Amateur Radio Club in Australia will be activating VK2IMD for International Marconi Day.

Activity will start at 10:00 AM Sydney time on Saturday, 26th April, and continue until 10:00 AM on Sunday, this being the UTC day.

This will be the only IMD station in the Asia-Pacific region, the link being that Ernest Fisk received the first direct wireless message from the UK to Australia, at Wahroonga in northern Sydney, a signal transmitted from Marconi in Wales.

Look out for VK2IMD on the various HF bands, mostly using
Single Side Band, but with some CW, depending on the operator..
