Ray Oliver’s 'Sail Round the UK' for charity

A British radio amateur is sailing around the UK in a bid to raise money for charity.

Ray Oliver, G3NDS, is sailing round the UK for charity, operating /MM from his yacht Christine-Marie, and has sent us this report on his progress so far.

Hi everyone

This message is to update you on my progress to sail round the UK in my yacht Christine Marie. Since leaving Lymington in April last year I have travelled a total of 1000M visiting 37 ports on passage. It’s been a fantastic adventure so far… you can read all about it on my web site. I reached Oban on the west coast of Scotland and I set sail again from there on the 9 th of April, first cruising the Scottish Highlands to visit the Orkney Islands, before commencing my homeward passage to arrive back in Lymington by the autumn.

My thanks to everyone that has supported me and the charities. I have now raised £1500 for the three charities I am supporting, half way to my goal of £3000.
