Hungarian Special Event

Hungarian radio amateurs from the city of Debrecen will be active as HG160FNY (as well as special individual callsigns) until July 31st.

Activity is to remind everyone of the historical event 160 years ago (in 1849) where the Austrian army occupied the Capital city (back then was Debrecen) and Transdanubium.

Look for activity on all HF bands including VHF/UHF using various modes (including digital). QSOs are good towards the Commemorative Diploma.

The principal special callsign will be HG160FNY with different operators. QSL Manager is Zoli, HA0DX.

Special individual callsigns announced are: HA160DX (Zoli/HA0DX), HA160KA (Istvan/HA0KA), HA160NDE (Vince/HA0NDE), HG160BW (Imre/HG0BW) and HG160JUV (Vili/HG7JUV). Stations with individual special callsigns will not have QSL Managers.

QSL cards should be addressed to the Central QSL Bureau in Budapest and should be handled as a conventional card.
A special QSL card will be issued for each contact with a special station.

For the Commemorative Diploma, you need one contact with a HG160FNY station and two more contacts with stations participating in the event with two different callsigns, independent of mode or frequency.
