Erne Rally raffle winners

Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club recently hosted almost 200 amateur radio enthusiasts, most from Northern Ireland and the Republic and some from Britain at its annual radio show in the SHARE centre.

There was a raffle for two handhelds. LEARC Chairman, Gerry McLernan, MI3GHW presented a YAESU one to David Corbett, EI6IQ from Scotstown in Co Monaghan.

Likewise lucky, Richard White, GI4DOH, chairman of the amateur radio club in Bangor, Co Down, won a similar rig presented by John Turner of ICOM, another top brand name in amateur radio equipment.

LEARC was founded 30 years ago. The 2009 main rally organisers, Ian Gibb, MI3GHY, and Herbie Graham, GI6JPO were pleased with the continued support from radio amateurs, north and south, on this third occasion that the Club’s show has used this venue at Ireland’s largest holiday village.

SHARE, on the shore of Upper Lough Erne, works for the inclusion of disabled and non-disabled people by providing opportunities for all to participate in a wide range of creative, educational and recreational activities.

Appropriately, one of the regular stands at the show was set up by the Radio Amateur Invalid and Blind Club. Moreover, it was affably attended by Terry Barnes.
RAIBC gives support in this useful and wide ranging hobby to radio amateurs with difficulties, yet who can talk to the world from their own home
