Meteor scatter and Moon-bounce contacts from Bulgaria

Two teams of Bulgarian VHF enthusiasts were active during the period August 8 – 14 establishing numerous meteor scatter contacts with many European countries via the Perseids Meteor Shower.

One of the teams, including LZ1GK, LZ2HM, LZ3CQ and LZ5UV operated on 2 meters from a site in the Rhodope Mountains.

They also succeeded to make EME – Moon-Bounce contacts with RN6BN in Russia and LX3DX in Luxembourg. A power of 1 kilowatt and two 9 element stacked Yagi antennas were used.

The other LZ team comprised LZ1BB and LZ1UQ who operated also on 2 meters from the very rare square 42 in Rezovo, quite close to the border with Turkey.
