60th anniversary of atomic bombings of Hiroshima and NagasakiTo commemorate the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945, Japan’s public broadcaster NHK is opening its “peace archives” and making available three of its programmes free of charge to overseas broadcasters. English information is available at http://www.nhk.or.jp/peace/english/index.html In addition, NHK is to broadcast live two "concerts for Peace 2005" from Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August. The concerts will also be available live via the Internet.
