Ipswich Radio Scouts at Gilwell Reunion

Radio Scouts from Ipswich will be setting up a station at Gilwell Park Chingford, Essex next weekend for the 79th Gilwell Reunion that will be held during the 2/3/4 September. Listen out for them and give them a call. The information below is from Malcolm G4CXT, see also:

A small contingent from the Radio Scouts in the Ipswich area expect to be setting up a radio station under canvas at the Gilwell Reunion next weekend.

We don't know exactly what they will be doing, primarily because that responsibility has been left to the Scouts themselves, but no doubt it will reflect some of the activities they have got up to over the last few months, and reflect their intermediate licence status.

All interested Scouters & radio amateurs who will attending the reunion are asked to make a special effort to stop by their display in the Orchard and to engage them in conversation about how they enjoy making radio part of their Scouting.

Furthermore why not try to show a leader from your area who has never seen Radio Scouting before just how relevant all this is to the modern Scouting programme? Its not too late to propose participation in JOTA to a new Group, and this might be the catalyst needed in your area!
