ISS amateur radio status

The TNC on the Kenwood radio appears to have stopped working.

Attempts have been made to restore the functionality of the radio but so far without success. The crew will be very busy preparing for an space walk on Thursday (Aug 18) so additional troubleshooting will not be possible until after the space walk has been completed.

PCSAT2 is operational and currently supporting PSK-31 uplink on 29.402 and down linking on 435.275 on a limited basis. Telemetry data from the Materials on ISS Experiment 5 (MISSE 5) is being down linked on 437.975 in both 1200 and 9600 baud packet.

Now that PCSAT2 has been installed, operation concerns will significantly restrict activation of the crossband repeater for extended periods of time until some tests can be conducted.
