SASOL TECHNO-X 2004

From 23 to 28 August 2004, SASOL will be hosting their annual Science and Technology faire at Sasolburg, RSA. The aim is to expose schoolchildren to science and technology in as many practical ways as possible. This is the fourth year Techno-X is hosted by SASOL.

The Sasolburg Amateur Radio Club will once again represent the SARL at this event. They will have a special call sign ZS4SRL for this event.

Schoolchildren will be given the opportunity to speak on air to fellow hams during this week.

Please support this venture by listening in on the following bands:
80 m
40 m (7,074 MHz)
20 m
6 m
2 m FM and SSB
Packet
WSJT/PSK modes
between 09:30 and 16:00 every day.

QSL cards will be sent to acknowledge those cards the Sasolburg ARC receives.

There is a need for people to operate the stand and station this year. If you have the time to come and help us during 23 - 28 August, feel free to contact Riaan, ZS4PR, at 083 581 8569.

A convenient timetable must be set to see who can help where and when. This is a fun way to promote our dynamic hobby. The 2003 SASOL Techno-X drew some 40,000 (forty thousand) visitors, learners and students.

The SARL stand on average had between 400 and 1,000 visitations per day during the week it is here. We hope to log you at this one!
