Tasmanian Devil Award

Now let's check out an award for you to chase, and this one's so eager to attract aspirants that it even has its own net.

The Tasmanian Devil Award Net is the net's name, and you can probably guess that the net hails from our southernmost state of Tasmania, as does the award, of course, affectionately known as the Tassie Devils Award.

The award comes under the auspices of the Central Highlands ARC, and its net goes to air each Thursday night at 8pm local time on 3585 kHz. The awards net runs for 30 minutes, and is then followed by the clubs usual net, which commences with, of all things, a weekly quiz. Sounds like fun!

The club explains that to earn the basic award, you need to
confirm a specific number of contacts with VK7 stations, a
number of which would presumably be on air during the net.

If you're in Africa, that number is only seven stations, while
Europe and South America need 10 confirmations. North
America and Asia need 20, while Oceania and Antarctica will
require 30. Australia, of course, needs even more. If you're in the lucky country, you'll want 50 contacts with VK7 stations to be considered for your Tassie Devils Award.

Don't rest on your laurels once you have the award, though.
There are many updates available, too, numbered 50, 100,
150, 200, 250 and 300. you'll get all the information you need from that weekly net on Thursday night at 2000 hours local on 3585 kHz.
