New members joining the
national WIA continues to grow

After three months of operation as the national WIA (Wireless Institute of Australia), the number of new members is growing by around 25% when compared with membership growth last year.

It is still too early to determine if the number of members renewing is different to last year, though no alarming trend has been detected. The different pattern is no doubt due to the delayed mailing of July and August renewals.

It is expected that the September renewals will also be mailed later than usual, because as the situation of the divisions' change, what needs to be said to members being offered renewal needs to change.

If you have not yet renewed your membership, please do so without delay. If you are not a member please give careful consideration to joining now. We must demonstrate to the ACA (Australian Communications Authority) that the WIA is increasing it's membership base if we are to be effective in negotiations on issues such as new bands and Broadband over Powerlines.

Membership application forms are available on the national website www.wia.org.au, just follow the prompts.
