Radio Satellite FO-29 turns 10
The Amateur Radio satellite Fuji-OSCAR-29 aka Fuji-3 and JAS-2 was launched
10 years ago today on August 17, 1996.
Many commercial/millitary satellites cease operating after a few years
but FO-29 built by Radio Amateurs is still providing a reliable service
after 10 years.
The satellite has both Analogue and Digital transponders. The analogue
SSB/CW transponder has always been the most popular with the uplink between
145.900 - 146.000 MHz and the downlink at 435.800 - 435.900 MHz.
