New 10 Metre Beacon 9H1IA - 28.174000 MHz

9H1IA 10 Meter CW Beacon

This CW Beacon went into active operation at 00:00:01 Zulu on the 15th August 2006 and is transmitting from a Yaesu FT-857D running at a power of 7.5 Watts / 8.75 dBW into a specifically tuned Antron 99 omni directional vertical antenna at 129 Meters ASL measured at the base of the antenna.

The Location of the beacon is the town of Mosta on the main Island of Malta. Lat/Long: 35° 54' 46" N / 14° 25' 41" E
Frequency: 28.174000 MHz. Mode: A1

The system is powered by a 100 Watt Photovoltaic Monocrystalline panel with a 10 Amp Charge Controller charging a bank of two 75AH deep cycle sealed Gel batteries.

The batteries are connected to produce 150AH 12 Volts DC to drive a 3KW Inverter to provide power for other radio related equipment.
