Special Event news from the RSGB

South Lancashire Amateur Radio Club will put special event callsign G1BCC on the air on 28 August as part of Bickershaw Labour Club’s fun day.

Orkney Wireless Museum Amateur Radio Station will be in operation as GB2OWM from Kiln Corner, Kirkwall between 31 August and 6 September 2006 during the 16th Orkney Science Festival. Activity will be primarily on HF SSB.

The Quarter Century Wireless Association’s Wild Rose branch will operate special event callsign VE6QCWA from 1 to 30 September to celebrate the upcoming QCWA National Convention taking place in Calgary, Canada on 28 to 30 September.

Look out for special callsign CE70RG on 80-10m SSB and CW until 22 August to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Radio Club Rancagua.

Look out for special event callsign 4O7WWYC which is being aired by the World Wide Young Contesters Group until 31 August to celebrate the group’s 7th anniversary.

Special event station 8J3SEA will be aired until 15 September for the 34th Seanet Convention that will be held in Osaka on 14-17 September. QSL via the JARL bureau.

GB0GRA and GB0HDX will be put on the air at a field day at the Harlaxton Sports and Social Club in Grantham over the bank holiday weekend of 26 to 27 August. Organised by M0JHW, G4MQM and 2E1AXL, the event includes a BBQ on the Saturday afternoon.
