Take Your Hand-held To Work DayFriday 18 August is 'take your hand-held transceiver to work' day in South Africa. Demonstrate amateur radio to your colleagues at work and show them the excitement of amateur radio. In Gauteng, the Magalies repeater on 145,750 will have an active link to echolink and in Kwazulu-Natal the Highway Amateur Radio Club has a permanent link to IRLP on node number is 8300. It is operational on 439,025 MHz in and around Durban. The repeater receiver is on 431,425 MHz (ie minus 7,60 MHz). Radio Amateurs who are at home on Friday are requested to be active on the local repeater. You can do much to promote amateur radio.
