Making ham radio accessible to blind and disabled people

Amateur radio is full of possibilities for Blind and Disabled people.

New Zealand radio amateur Allen Little ZL2GB / ZL2OHM is in contact with the "Handiham" organisation in the US and he is attempting to develop resources to encourage fellow Blind or Disabled persons to enjoy Ham Radio.

The Handiham programme www.handiham.org was set up in 1967 by the Courage Centre in Minnesota; the idea of Ned Carman, W0ZSW. Pat Tice, WA0TDA is the current programme manager.

Allen Little ZL2GB says there is much we can learn from the experienced coaches associated with the HandiHam project and he would like introductions to potential Blind or Disabled individuals interested in perusing the Amateur Radio hobby.
