Hamfest to be held in Dorset

The Flight Refuelling Amateur Radio Society is holding Hamfest 2007 on Sunday 12 August at the Cobham Sports and Social Club grounds at Merley, Dorset.

There will be live demonstrations of 1.3GHz ATV from the proposed Bournemouth area repeater GB3SQ.

Members of the South Coast Repeater and Beacon Group will be on hand to explain the workings of local repeaters and the Bell Hill Microwave Beacon Complex.

The onsite model steam railway will be in operation for the children and there will be several demonstrations of Tesla coil systems. Plus of course there will be the usual trade stands and a large radio car boot sale section.
